Chris has started karting this year and joined the team in Rotax 177. He is enjoying his karting and performing well as a novice at the Whilton Mill circuit. Adam started karting this year in Mini Max and is currently having a very successful season as a novice. Jake joined the team in 2005 as a novice driver and has successfully completed his novice drives and is now a fully qualified driver. He is now moving up the grid in 2006 as a Rotax 177 driver with an excellent 6th for the final at his first race meeting. Pippa joined the team towards the end of the 2005 season after finishing her Cadet racing. Moving into Rotax Mini Max after just two days practicing with the Protrain team she won her first race meeting. She finished the year with many podiums and looks set to be one of the country's top Mini Max drivers in 2006 racing at the Super One and Stars of Tomorrow. So far in 2006 she has already many race meeting victories and lots of fastest laps and second in the National Championship Stars of Tomorrow. Jack joined the team for 2006. A top driver in 2005 he won the 2006 European Championships with top three finishes in every round at France, Italy, Austria and Belgium. See his brilliant career and further details at www.hawksworthracing.com He jointly dominated the first round of the championship with 2 heat wins and fastest lap in every heat. Second in the first final, high hopes of a victory were dashed by an incident on lap two dropping him back to sixteenth but leading to a tremendous charge back to sixth. The second round in Italy saw an even greater domination by Jack winning two heats to gain pole position for the first final. This he won easily by almost 2 seconds, then disaster, a crazy Austrian drove over Jack's kart on the rolling lap knocking his exhaust off and preventing him from starting what should have been his second victory of the day. A second and fourth in Austria were followed by a conservative 2nd and 3rd in Belgium to WIN the European Championships. A successful Stars of Tomorrow season also saw him as vice champion in the Stars of Tomorrow National Championships. A driver who in just over two years he has developed rapidly at club, National and European events. Moving up from Rotax Mini Max to Junior Rotax Max UK for 2005 he has competed successfully at the European Rotax Max Challenge with excellent finishes and demon overtaking maneuvers. Aly in his first year in Europe finished 25th overall having competed in only 3 of 4 rounds with many top 20 finishes. In 2006 Aly has totally dominated and won the Egyptian National championship and featured highly in the European Championships with a 15th and 16th. A driver to watch for the future who already has Red Bull interest. Adam has been a leading Formula TKM Extreme driver for many years finishing 3rd in the Whilton Mill club championship. This year Adam has been the fastest at almost all Whilton Mill meetings and won his first race meeting and set a new lap record. He is now looking forward to having a successful year racing in the Super One National Championships. Tal from Israel has just started karting with the team in 2005 and is just off his novice plates. So far he has always been the top novice driver and collected trophies despite competing at only a few race meetings. Stefan started in Junior Rotax Max UK in 2004 and has proved to be a very strong and fast driver who always puts in a special effort for the final. He is developing into a fast driver and will very shortly be finishing consistently in the top three. He finished fourth in the Whilton Mill Club Championship and is looking forward to a strong 2006 in Rotax max. Dean has just started in Cadets with the Protrain team but has shown some very gutsy performances and improved his times by over 2 seconds per lap. Graham is just finding his feet in the sport and is about to take his first race meeting. He has been a strong supporter of karting looking after his son Steven for a number of years and has finally given in to the temptation of driving. Steven moved from TKM Intermediates in 2003 to Rotax Max for 2004 and Rotax 177 for 2005. Despite only being in his first season in Rotax 177 he is combining a rapid pace with some good race craft culminating in his first meeting win and many podium finishes. A full season in the class in 2006 should see him in the top three for the Championship.
At the age of 8, Shaun passed his
ARKS test with tuition from Protrain. Over the next few years, with
periodic training with Gary Chapman, he progressed in the Comer
cadet class to take the Camberley club championship, and wins at
many tracks. In 2005 he became a leading national cadet driver taking
6th in Stars of Tomorrow, 7th in Super 1, 2nd in the Midland
Championship and 3rd in the Renault Champion of Champions meeting. He
has recently joined the team to drive Mini Max, and has continued
his national success in Super 1.
Matthew moved out of Cadets in the middle of 2003 to compete in Rotax Mini Max for 2004 and to Junior Rotax Max UK in 2005. After finishing runner up in the Whilton Mill club championships in 2004 with many top three finishes, for 2005 he has concentrated on visiting many other circuits including taking in the Super One National Championships. Trips to Europe in 2006 have enhanced his driving. In the first round of the Europeans Matthew was straight into the finals and managed a magnificent 18th position. The second round in Italy saw Matthew up to 2nd but after being pushed wide finished a fantastic 8th position. Good performances in Austria and Belgium and Matthew finished a fantastic 12th overall in his first year in Europe. A driver who only races once a month, achieves fantastic results with very little practice. Alex started racing in 2006 in Junior Rotax and is looking forward to a successful novice period after a strong showing in testing . Dave started racing in 2004 in Rotax 175 and in 2005 has competed well at Whilton Mill and Kimbolton in Rotax Max 177. He has a flamboyant style that the team is gradually controlling and a podium finish is on the horizon. |
